Calibration Material
The availability of calibration material is an essential aspect in the harmonisation of mohair fibre diameter measurement amongst different testing laboratories.
Calibration material is selected from specially prepared mohair tops that have been subjected to round trials amongst different laboratories. Suitable round trial tops are introduced into the calibration series when required.
The new calibration series (IMLA Series 2) includes 6 of the IMA calibration tops.
The assigned mean fibre diameters of IMLA Series 2 are indicated below:
